About
The Mansfield Memory Project is a community effort to collect images, videos, stories, documents and art related to Mansfield, Ohio in order to provide access to free digital copies through a public website. While many images in the Memory Project may be available from other sources, every attempt is made to provide high-resolution content in high quality digital formats unavailable elsewhere.
This project is not an organization and does not collect physical assets. Everything contributed is simply scanned, profiled and posted; every exhibit remains the property of the owner. The purpose is to preserve and share Mansfield’s history by encouraging anyone who has a piece of that history to share it, either with credit or as an anonymous contributor.
Anyone wishing to participate in this exciting project, please contact us at info@mansfieldmemory.org or look at upcoming Events on this site. Periodically, public events will be held where smaller collections – or even one picture – will be scanned and added to the collection in real time.
Alternatively, images may be contributed in a digital format providing the image is:
- Scanned (not shot with a camera or phone) at a minimum of 600 ppi for photos and 2400 ppi for slides
- Scanned with density of 3.4 DMax depth or above
- Saved without compression or at highest quality compression setting JPG format
- Not enhanced with over-saturated color, excessive sharpening, automatic image cleaning, etc.
Please contact us for further information should you have any questions, and again, we are happy to scan your materials and archive them for you.
